Plans continue for waste-to-energy plant

Last summer, representatives of the American Renewable Energy Associates Company (AREA) came to Guernsey to propose a waste to energy power plant located near the community.
Today, plans for the plant are continuing to go according to schedule, and construction on housing for plant workers could begin as soon as April of this year.

Efficient ways to save on your monthly energy bill were highlighted in a workshop in Wheatland on Wednesday, Feb. 24.
Juliet Daniels of the Cooperative Extension Service discussed both no-cost and low-cost ways to save on energy bills.

Beetles killing pines in Wheatland

Mountain pine beetle, the native bark beetle responsible for killing large tracts of Wyoming's forests is now threatening communities across the state, including Wheatland. Recently, a survey of pine trees within Wheatland indicated that mountain pine beetle is present in the community and currently has attacked several ponderosa pines in particular.
